Cesc Fabregas talks about his frustrating situation at Chelsea
Ever since joining Chelsea in 2014, Cesc Fabregas won two titles with the Blues and was definitely a very important piece in the club’s successes until date. However, things changed after Maurizio Sarri’s arrival and he’s definitely not ok with this.
“I know what my role is. Unfortunately, it’s not the one I want,” Fabregas said.
“It’s a difficult situation for me, obviously. I’m playing the cups and the Europa League. I’m not someone who you’ll see complaining or not giving his all because of that. I’ll always be there showing my face when needed.”
So far this season, the player started just in the Wolves defeat last week and he will be out of contract at the end of the season. Since Maurizio Sarri doesn’t have any plans for him – despite calling Cesc Fabregas a leader and a key player – the offers started coming, from teams like AC Milan. And we’re expecting him to start negotiating a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club in the January transfer window.

On the other side, the manager expressed his desire for Fabregas to stay, even though Jorginho was his main choice in the position, saying that nowadays, it can be really difficult to find a central midfielder as technic as the Spaniard.
When he was asked if these comments can make any difference to his view on the future, the player added: “No. I know I have an idea. But we’ll see what happens. It’s too early to talk about this now.”
Last night, against MOL Vidi, Cesc Fabregas marked his seventh start of the season in Chelsea’s shirt, in a match with almost no relevance, as the Blues has already advanced to the last 32 of the competition.
Considering all these, it’s less likely to see him at Stamford Bridge in the 2019/20 Premier League season. Unless Maurizio Sarri decides that his system deserves a revamp, but that’s almost impossible.
