David de Gea is close to signing a new Manchester United contract
Manchester United fans are definitely worried over David de Gea’s future at the club, as the Spanish keeper has a year and a half left on his current deal, so rumors are suggesting that he might be interested in a move, especially considering the Red Devils’ current situation.
It is well known that Real Madrid were interested in signing him, as well as Paris Saint-Germain, but it appears that they can start looking for other variants since the player is ready to commit to Manchester United.
The club already activated the one-year extension on his contract earlier this month, but they are almost desperate to make him pen a long-term deal. Even Jose Mourinho said that he hopes a new agreement will be reached soon.
“He’s a world-class player, he’s the best goalkeeper in the world and if our ambitions are to be a big club, to be a winning club, you need the best goalkeeper in the world and you need also some other players who are the best in the world,” the manager declared, according to The Telegraph.

And it appears that fans may be able to breathe relieved, as David de Gea keeps telling his friends that he is ready to sign a new contract with Manchester United.
The club is ready to make him one of the best-paid goalkeepers in the world, meaning that his new deal could be worth something around £400,000 per week after bonuses. As a side note, if this offer turns to be real, he would be right there, alongside Alexis Sanchez, as one of the club’s top earners.
There aren’t any details on how long this contract would go on for, but the Sun says that de Gea could remain at United until his late 30s.
