Eintracht Frankfurt are yet to receive an offer for Luka Jovic
One of the most promising players in Europe is definitely Eintracht Frankfurt’s Luka Jovic, as the young Serbian striker already managed to catch the attention of some of the top clubs in the Premier League and La Liga.
According to Goal, Barcelona are ready to spend 50 million euros for the international, while Manchester City have been monitoring him as well, following his impressive season in the Bundesliga, where he scored 15 goals in 18 starts.
However, according to Eintracht’s supervisory board chairman, Wolfgang Steubing, the club is yet to receive a bid for the 21-year-old.
“The numbers that are rampant across social media are not yet on our table,” Steubing said during a panel discussion in Frankfurt.
“There is definitely no offer. But maybe that will happen.”
The club is looking forward to selling Luka Jovic this summer, after getting him on loan from Benfica, with the option to sign him for a fee around 7 million euros. And if they do this, then immediately sell him to a top club, it can easily become one of the best deals in Bundesliga history.
Barcelona are considered favourites in the race for his signature, as the Serbian could be a long-term successor to Luis Suarez. And Serbia’s manager, Mladen Krstajic, also believes that Luka Jovic could totally fit in La Liga.
“He certainly has the potential to play at such a club.”
In the meantime, Eintracht can only wait to see which side is willing to bid the most for their most prized asset.
