Juventus Turin, Cristiano Ronaldo

Juventus Turin lost at home against Manchester United in the Champions League on Wednesday, 1-2, but Cristiano Ronaldo scored one of the best goals we’ve seen in this competition. However, the Portuguese also managed to infuriate United’s fans, ones who had plenty of respects for their former player.

Juventus opened the score in the second half when Leonardo Bonucci sent a beautiful ball over the top and Ronaldo volleyed an unstoppable first-time effort to defeat David de Gea. Although the home side had the game everything under control, the Red Devils turned things around in the final minutes, following a Juan Mata freekick and an own-goal by Alex Sandro.

Despite the negative result, at full-time CR7 seemed more focused on the goal he just scored.

“I saw the replay in the dressing room. I didn’t realize it was a fantastic goal, but I did a good movement and I kick the ball strong”, said the Portuguese, according to Viasport Football.

However, Cristiano also stated his opinion that Juve played much better and that he’s a little bit disappointed that his team didn’t win because it should have obtained the victory by a three-four goal margin. He added that Manchester didn’t do much, but two or three set pieces.

“I know English teams are always looking for set pieces. We will learn from our mistakes and we are still top of the group, so it’s all good”, completed Ronaldo.

His comments on how Manchester United player didn’t go well with the Red Devils fans. Comments on social media were full with regrets that CR7 received a warm welcome on Old Trafford and many United supporters said that Ronaldo’s gesture to show his abs after the goal demonstrated the little love he has for the club that pushed him into glory.

Despite the loss, Juventus are still on top in Group H with nine points from their opening four games, while Manchester United is second with seven points.
