Juventus insists with getting Paul Pogba back from United

Ever since Jose Mourinho was still in charge at Manchester United, Paul Pogba was linked with an Old Trafford exit, but, eventually, it was the Portuguese manager who left. And the midfielder basically exploded after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was appointed as interim caretaker, scoring constantly and looking once again like the player he was while at Juventus.

And speaking about his former club, they were constantly on alert since from the first time the player started talking about his unhappiness at Manchester United, hoping to convince him to return one day.

Barcelona were also linked with a move, as they were interested in Paul Pogba’s services, but it appears that Italian giants Juventus are now his top contenders. At least this is what Italian newspaper Tuttosport claims, saying that they are willing to offer Douglas Costa in exchange, as well as an important sum of money.

“The Bianconeri insist on the French world champion,” the outlet wrote on today’s first page.

Obviously, this move could make sense. Juventus is on the verge – if it didn’t happen already – to becoming one of Europe’s most powerful clubs, securing the transfers of world class players, so bringing back a top midfielder, who is already used with the life in Turin, is not that unusual.

During his previous Juventus stint, Paul Pogba won four league titles and two Coppa Italia trophies, as well as the Italian Super Cup, twice, and reached the 2015 Champions League final in Berlin, against Barcelona.

In contrast, he didn’t get to win anything since joining Manchester United.

Back to the transfer, the Red Devils claim that Pogba is not for sale, as he is also part of the club’s image. Still, if Juventus is willing to offer Douglas Costa to sweeten the deal, they may consider a deal.

Costa could fit in at Manchester United, playing on the same position as Anthony Martial, another player rumored to considering an exit.

But with Solskjaer totally revamping the club, is any player from the starting XI really going to leave?
