Wayne Rooney considers Ole Gunnar Solskjaer the only option for Manchester United
Manchester United’s board are yet to offer Ole Gunnar Solskjaer a permanent position, even though the managed to completely transform the team since his arrival as interim caretaker, following a disastrous start to the season, under Jose Mourinho.
However, there are rumours that the Norwegian will be given the role at the end of the season, despite the consecutive defeats to Wolves in the FA Cup quarter-final and Arsenal in the Premier League, as he has the support of fans, as well as some of the club’s legends.
Wayne Rooney believes that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should be the only candidate to take the manager job at the club, even though some sources still link Mauricio Pochettino with the job.
“He has gone in with simplicity and has brought belief back to the fans,” the D.C. United striker said for talkSPORT.
“He has made the place enjoyable again to go into work every day. The staff around Carrington are enjoying working there again and that does rub off. When you see the staff happy around the players, it makes it a happy environment to work in.”
Manchester United had, overall, a disappointing season, but Solskjaer still managed to save what he could and the Red Devils now maintain chances of playing in the UEFA Champions League next season, now to mention that they managed to advance to this year’s quarterfinals, after surprisingly going past Paris Saint-Germain. But is this enough to guarantee the former striker a permanent job?
