SM Caen

SM Caen

SM Caen is currently active in Ligue 1 (group stage - 36th matchday) in 18th place with only seven won matches out of a total of 36. On the other hand, the team was eliminated in the quarter-finals against Olympique Lyon of the Coupe de France. In total, 49 goals were conceded, seven out of 36 games were won and 49 goals were scored in the current season. Fabien Mercadal (also) from France looks after and coaches the football players of the team. The group's home venue, the Stade Michel d'Ornano in Caen, offers enough space for up to 21215 visitors.

SM Caen started with no less than eight orders in the games of the current season (5-3-2, 3-5-2, 4-4-2, 4-4-1-1, 3-4-1-2, 4-2-3-1, 4-3-3, 4-1-4-1, 3-4-3). In away games, the group likes to meet SC Amiens, as it was there that most of the triumphs took place. Frederic Guilbert (right-back), Stef Peeters (midfielder), Claudio Beauvue (striker), Brice Samba (goalkeeper), Romain Genevois and Paul Baysse (central defender) plus Emmanuel Imorou (left-back) were on the starting line-up with 19 other players in the current season. In summary, SM Caen weighs more than two elephants, but in the mass even 4 kg less than the European average. At 90 kg, the 30-year-old striker Malik Tchokounte is the one who surpasses this value most noticeably.

The team have suffered a total of three defeats this season just before the final whistle, most recently 38 days ago against Olympique Nimes after two goals from Denis Bouanga and the 180cm jersey number 14 Jonathan Gradit in minutes 85 and 90. The maximum half-time lead of three goals made the selection in the round of 32 of the Coupe de France against ES Viry-Chatillon. Finally, SM Caen won 6-0. Only 33% of the 9 shots on goal per match (on average) finally reached the box. The team has the best record (4/7/9) with the 4-2-3-1 arrangement.

With an average height of 181cm, the professionals of SM Caen are more in the normal range than their competitors. After a handicap of three goals, the biggest possible in the current season, against AS Saint Etienne in the 29th Ligue 1 Group Phase, a loss was feared anyway. Finally the game ended 0 : 5. Sometimes it happens that a match is decided shortly before the end of the game, as for example on 18 December 2018 against Toulouse FC by a direct goal of the Moroccan midfielder Faycal Fajr 64 seconds before the final whistle. Such a victory the group otherwise managed once again in since August. The goalkeepers of SM Caen have done an exemplary job in securing opposing goal shots.

Despite the late goal 162 seconds before the final whistle by the 186cm shirt number 11 Casimir Ninga Casimir Ninga did not manage to win on 11 January 2019 against Lille OSC. The most frequent substitutes are goalkeeper Erwin Zelazny, midfielders Jessy Deminguet and Baissama Sankoh, defenders Emmanuel Imorou and Adama Mbengue and striker Evens Joseph. Although the number of footballers is about 25 years, the right-footed defender Mouhamadou Dabo has had the greatest influence in this respect. In her latest match of the Ligue 1 against Stade Reims SM Caen wanted to take a risk with the 4-4-2 arrangement (W/D/L: 1/0/1). Finally SM Caen won 3-2. After SM Caen's 178cm tall midfielder Faycal Fajr melted the goal from 24m distance on 28 April 2019 in the 34th group phase game of the Ligue 1 against Dijon FCO, even several supporters of the opponents were happy.

In the first half the team tends to secure a lead. The last triumph of the team against SC Amiens was 7 months and 17 days ago. Meanwhile, both teams met only once more. The most recent meeting took place on 29 September 2018 and in the 23 matches of the last 16 years the score of the team against SC Amiens is 11. SM Caen vs SC Amiens (12/4/7) has the most victorious result. By contrast, the deal with Paris Saint-Germain (4/12/37) is the worst in the long term. With a result of only four successes, twelve stalemates and 37 defeats against Paris Saint-Germain in SMC's own venue, this team is also the most critical opponent there.

It took just 180 seconds for the football team to concede the fastest goal of the current season. This was shot by Romain Hamouma (SC Bastia) in the 29th group phase match of Ligue 1. The multitude of professionals rather kicks the right foot. SM Caen failed to win a match this season (against AS Saint Etienne) even though they were leading in the first half.
