Cardiff City vs Manchester United – Prediction, Odds and Betting Tips
With a new manager on the bench, Ole Gunnar Solskjær, Manchester United is beginning the post-Mou era, so it’s going to be very interesting to watch their next game.
We don’t know yet, but Cardiff City should be a pretty easy opponent for United. However, the Welsh side has made some decent games on home ground this season.
Cardiff City: Current Team Form, Estimated Line-up, and Predictions
Cardiff City has won two matches this month, the same amount of games the Welshmen won until we’ve reached December. With 14 points in 17 matches, Cardiff City sits outside the relegation spots, being 16th, 17-33 aggregate.
Last week, Warnock’s men lost at Watford, 2-3, but at least they put on a good fight. The hosts had 3-0 on the scoreboard at some points, after Deulofeu (16’), Holebas (52’) and Quina (68’) scored for Watford. But the last 10 minutes were so intense, with Hoilett (80’) and Reid (82’) reducing the gap and bringing Cardiff into a fighting position. The visitors forced an equalizer, but Watford knew how to store the advantage – by keeping more of the ball.
On the road, Cardiff has lost seven out of eight matches this season. Luckily for Warnock’s men, on home ground things went a lot better. Cardiff has won four games and lost other four, with just one draw.
Ward and Bennett are injured and won’t be able to help their team against Manchester United.
Line-up Cardiff City
- Goalkeeper: Neil Etheridge
- Backfield: Bruno Manga, Sean Morrison, Sol Bamba, Greg Cunningham
- Midfield: Josh Murphy, Aron Gunnarsson, Harry Arter, Victor Camarasa
- Forwards: Bobby Reid, Callum Paterson
Manchester United: Current Team Form, Estimated Line-up, and Predictions
A 1-3 defeat at Liverpool was enough for the board to decide to part ways with Jose Mourinho. The Portuguese is no longer Manchester United’s manager. A decision that should have been taken after the game against Juventus, but that “false” win kept Jose on the United bench. But being dominated in such matter by a rival was the drop that filled the cup…
It wasn’t the score, 3-1 for Liverpool, but the way the Reds won the duel. Mane opened the score for Liverpool in the 24th minute, with Lingard bringing the equalizer in the 33rd minute. Jurgen’s Klopp’s team was clearly the better one in the first half, but the next 45 minutes showed us the huge gap between the two clubs at the moment. Shaqiri scored a brace (73’ and 80’) and Liverpool finished the game with 36 goal opportunities. In contrast, United had just 6.
Ole Gunnar Solskjær has been placed in charge at Old Trafford for the remainder of the season. We could expect some changes in the starting line-up, but being his first game on the bench, he should go with what Mourinho last used for his 11.
Line-up Manchester United
- Goalkeeper: David De Gea
- Backfield: Antonio Valencia, Eric Bailly, Victor Lindelof, Diogo Dalot
- Midfield: Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, Ander Herrera
- Forwards: Marcus Rashford, Romelu Lukaku, Jesse Lingard
Chuck No Risk Prediction: Cardiff City – Manchester United
The game takes place on Cardiff City Stadium, Cardiff, Saturday, kick-off at 17:30. Cardiff City – Manchester United counts for game week 18 of the Premier League.
At Bethard, we have 57/100 odds for a United win, while a Cardiff victory receives 103/20 odds. A draw can be played with 31/10 odds.
This may not be the perfect timing, but we’re willing to bet on a Manchester United victory. Players should be more relaxed without Mou on the bench and could give 100% to get their team back on track. Benefit from the 57/100 odds. Taking on a new team can be difficult for a manager. The former United striker will look to not concede goals rather than going all offensive. Under 3,5 goals is our second option, 37/100 odds. For our final prediction, we’ve chosen Lukaku to score. The Belgium international has been called fat and people say he has a terrible first touch. But he’s a scorer and it’s time for him to prove it once again. The odds are 6/5.
Bottom line, we have three predictions for the Cardiff City – Manchester United match – Manchester United to win, under 3,5 goals, and Lukaku to score anytime.
