Everton vs Tottenham Hotspur – Prediction, Odds and Betting Tips
We end game week 18 of the Premier League with a duel between Everton and Tottenham Hotspur, Sunday, on Goodison Park. The visitors are having an extraordinary month and despite different problems with injuries, Pochettino has managed to keep his team fresh and ready for action. Last season, Tottenham won both meetings against Everton, 3-0, on the road, and 4-0, at home, so the Spurs start with a pretty solid upper hand.
Everton: Current Team Form, Estimated Line-up, and Predictions
Everton had a decent game against Manchester City, on the road, but couldn’t get anything from their trip to Etihad. The Toffees lost 3-1, although they had the first big chance of the match.
Richarlison was the man who shot over Ederson’s goal from a very appealing position. Seven minutes later (22’), Gabriel Jesus didn’t take his example and finished a pass by Sane with a very good effort at the bottom corner. The same Brazilian striker made it 2-0 in the 50th minute, but Calvert-Lewein brought Everton back into the game in the 65th minute. Sterling made 3-1 just three minutes after he entered the pitch, in the 69th minute.
Although Everton played with five in the back, the visitors had some decent opportunities to score. Da Silva’s men had guts against Manchester City and they should be proud, even though a loss is a loss, no matter the score or the play.
Idrissa Gana Gueye is still out injured, so we shouldn’t be surprised if the Everton manager continues with five defenders, three being center-backs. Yerry Mina had a poor game against Manchester City, yet he should be in the starting 11 once again.
- Goalkeeper: Jordan Pickford
- Backfield: Lucas Digne, Yerry Mina, Kurt Zouma, Michael Keane, Seamus Coleman
- Midfield: Andre Gomes, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Bernard
- Forwards: Richarlison, Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Tottenham Hotspur: Current Team Form, Estimated Line-up, and Predictions
Tottenham has 10 wins, one draw and one defeat in the last 12 matches in all competitions. The only loss came in the north-London derby, 2-4 against Arsenal. Since then, Tottenham won three straight matches in the Premier League, has qualified for the elimination stage of the Champions League and has taken an act of sweet revenge against the Gunners by eliminating them from the ¼ of the Carabao Cup.
Last week, the Spurs had plenty to work to obtain all three points, at home, against Burnley, with Eriksen scoring the only goal of the encounter in the first minute of stoppage time. A much easier task had Pochettino’s men mid-week when they once again went to Emirates to play Arsenal.
Heung-Min Son opened the score in the 20th minute and Alli made it 2-0 in the 59th minute. Known as specialists in the second halves of the matches, Arsenal didn’t manage to send a single shot on target after the break.
Vertonghen, Dembele, Aurier, and Wanyama are injured, while Sanchez is back in training, but it is too soon for him to enter Pochettino’s plans.
Line-up Tottenham Hotspur
- Goalkeeper: Hugo Lloris
- Backfield: Kieran Trippier, Toby Alderweireld, Ben Davies, Danny Rose
- Midfield: Dele Alli, Harry Winks, Christian Eriksen, Lucas Moura, Moussa Sissoko
- Forwards: Harry Kane
