Liverpool vs Everton – Prediction, Odds and Betting Tips
Alongside the North-London derby, Sunday we have another great local derby, Liverpool against Everton. Jurgen Klopp’s men come after another defeat in the Champions League, so the idea of mercy surely won’t be present in this encounter. Everton has displayed some good quality football lately and could be a serious opponent for the Reds. Last season, both Premier League meetings ended up in a draw, 1-1 on Anfield and 0-0 on Goodison Park, while Liverpool got through in the FA Cup encounter, 2-1, at home.
Liverpool looked like a rock band at the start of the season – full of energy, dynamic and with ingenuity. But recent matches involving Jurgen Klopp’s men have shown us a team that has lost its modjo.
The Reds won last weekend in the Premier League, 3-0 at Watford, and are 2nd in the standings, with 33 points from 13 matches, 26-5 aggregate. Salah, Alexander-Arnold, and Firmino scored for the visitors in the second half to ensure three points vital to keep in touch with Manchester City. Henderson got a second yellow card between the second and the third goal, but it didn’t matter too much in the end.
But the problem is in the Champions League. Mid-week, Liverpool lost its second game in the European competition, 1-2 at Paris, and is in danger of losing a spot for the last 16. Bernat and Neymar gave a 2-0 lead for PSG after 37 minutes, but Milner reduced the deficit from a penalty on the last play in the first half. Although Liverpool tried to get the equalizer in the second half, PSG’s defensive game was too good.
In the Premier League, Liverpool has won five of its six home matches.
- Goalkeeper: Alisson Becker
- Backfield: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Andrew Robertson
- Midfield: Naby Keita, Georginio Wijnuldum, James Milner
- Forwards: Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane
The Toffees are 6th in the Premier League rankings, with 22 points in 13 games, 20-15 aggregate. Before the international break, Everton got a goalless draw on Stamford Bridge against Chelsea and continued its fine form with a 1-0 win against Cardiff, last weekend. A short, but clear victory.
Sigurdsson scored the only goal of the game in 59th minute, but the hosts had plenty of other opportunities to score. Everton delivered eight shots on target, had 71% possession and seven corners. Cardiff, on the other hand, tested Pickford just once.
Da Silva preferred Richarlison as the main striker and this tactic has quickly become a habit for the Everton manager. With his team playing on the road against Liverpool, we highly doubt that he’ll change anything.
Everton already played at Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea this season. The Toffees have got one point from these three visits.
- Goalkeeper: Jordan Pickford
- Backfield: Lucas Digne, Kurt Zouma, Michael Keane, Seamus Coleman
- Midfield: Andre Gomes, Idrissa Gueye, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Bernard, Theo Walcott
- Forwards: Richarlison

Liverpool plays poorly on the road and in the Champions League. At home and in the Premier League, the Reds are one team you won’t want to face. It’s a derby, so Jurgen Klopp’s men will be 100% motivated to take the three points. Our first pick is Liverpool to win the game, ⅖ odds. And we don’t think the hosts will do it with just one goal on the scoresheet. That’s why our second option must be Liverpool to score at least two goals, 11/25 odds. Richarlison has had a lovely season for both Everton and the Brazilian national team. The striker has six goals in the Premier League this campaign and could be Everton’s weapon in the Liverpool derby. Richarlison to score anytime has 3/1 odds.
Basically, we have three predictions for the Liverpool – Everton encounter – Liverpool at fulltime, Liverpool over 1,5 goals, and Richarlison to score anytime.
