Saturday’s first game puts face-to-face West Ham United and Arsenal, in a London derby, one dominated by the Gunners lately. Arsenal has won five of the last seven encounters with West Ham in all competitions. On Emirates, Arsenal won 3-1, although the visitors opened the score, seeing 15 shots on target and an overall lovely game. Will this match be the same or should we expect a 0-0 draw like the last time these two teams met on West Ham’s turf?

West Ham United:Current Team Form, Estimated Line-up, and Predictions

The first Premier League game of 2019 brought just a draw for West Ham United, 2-2, at home, against Brighton & Hove Albion. After a relatively boring first half, the two teams put on quite a show in the second part of the match.

Stephens opened the score for the visitors in the 56th minute and just two minutes later, Duffy made it 2-0. But if the Hammers conceded two in two minutes, they also scored two in the same time frame. Arnautovic was the “brace” hero, with his goals from the 66th and 68th minutes.

This draw leaves West Ham United 10th in the Premier League, with 28 points, 29-32 aggregate.

Pellegrini’s men played last weekend against Birmingham in the FA Cup. With quite a few starters on the pitch, West Ham won 2-0, thanks to goals signed by Arnautovic (2’) and Carroll (90+1). It was Andy’s first goal from his injury return. But there was also some negative news, with Arnautovic catching an injury which needed him to be replaced after 20 minutes.

Balbuena, Chicharito, Lanzini, Yarmolenko, and Wilshere are already in the infirmary room, so if Arnautovic can’t play, that would be harsh for West Ham.

Line-up West Ham United

  • Goalkeeper: Lukasz Fabianski
  • Backfield: Pablo Zabaleta, Issa Diop, Angelo Ogbonna, Arthur Masuaku
  • Midfield: Declan Rice, Mark Noble, Robert Snodgrass
  • Forwards: Marko Arnautovic, Andy Carroll, Felipe Anderson

Arsenal:Current Team Form, Estimated Line-up, and Predictions

After the 5-1 defeat at Liverpool, Arsenal recorded two wins, one in the Premier League and the other in the FA Cup. First, came the victory over Fulham, 4-1, at home.

Xhaka scored the only goal of the first half, in the 25th minute. Ten minutes into the second half, Lacazette made it 2-0, but things were far from over. Kamara got one back for the visitors, yet with Fulham attacking to grab the equalizer, Arsenal had more room to work on the counterattack. Ramsey, in the 79th minute, and Aubameyang, in the 83rd minute, sealed the deal.

Then, last weekend, mainly with reserves on the pitch, Arsenal got through in the FA Cup after a success at Blackpool, 3-0. Willock got a “brace” in the first half, while Iwobi made it 3-0 with eight minutes left on the clock.

Bellerin, Monreal, Ozil, and Mavropanos have all returned to training, while Mustafi and Koscielny should be fit after some minor issues.

Line-up Arsenal

  • Goalkeeper: Bernd Leno
  • Backfield: Laurent Koscielny, Sokratis, Shkodran Mustafi
  • Midfield:  Sead Kolasinac, Lucas Torreira, Granit Xhaka, Ainsley Maitland-Niles
  • Forwards: Alex Iwobi, Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
